The Five Essential Diets During Three Pregnancy Stages

Pregnancy can be a stressful and testing time for mothers as they are basically bringing a new life into the world. Many women are confused about what to eat and so end up eating a lot of junk which is not good for the health of the baby. Therefore it is better to book an appointment with the gynecologist who can tell you what you can and cannot eat. Here are some examples of food that you can eat:

1. Fruits

If you have not been eating healthy this whole time now is the time to do it. Whatever you eat is going to affect your child’s mental and physical growth. Go for three to four servings of different kinds of fruits per day. You should go for the fresh ones from the market, frozen ones or juice that contains more fruit than extra sugar added. Citrus fruits are a very good source of vitamin C and should be consumed every single day (e.g. orange, lime, and grapefruit). Fruits should be consumed throughout the pregnancy stages as they are full of nutrition.

2. Vegetables

Stage one of pregnancy is still 4 weeks and many women experience morning sickness. For this reason, they are encouraged to eat more greens as it helps to ease the feeling of nausea in the morning due to a large amount of Magnesium in them. Try to go for 3 to 5 servings of vegetables per day and mix the vegetables up also so that they are more colorful to eat. Some good sources of greens include kale, broccoli, and spinach.

3. Meat

The second stage of pregnancy starts from week 4 to week 12 and around week 6 your baby’s red blood cells are in the process of getting formed as the heart start beating, therefore, it is imperative at this time to get a good amount of iron. One good source of iron is red meat, poultry, and seafood. Try to get 2 to 3 servings of protein per day for your child’s normal development. Also, lentils and nuts are also a good source of protein for those who do not consume meat.

4. Dairy products

Stage three starts from week 13 to week 28. Week 15 is the one in which your child’s eyes start to develop. This is the perfect time to consume more and more dairy products as they are loaded with vitamin D. try to go for dairy products 3 times a day to get all the calcium that you can get for your baby. Calcium is loaded with milk, yogurt, and cheese but go for low-fat items as the ones full of fat are dangerous for your health. During the third month of pregnancy, it is imperative to get as much vitamin D as you can.

5. Fish liver oil

Fish liver oil is a very good oil for those who are deficient in vitamin D and omega-3 fatty acids or those who don’t consume enough of seafood. Although it is very high in vitamin D it should not be consumed more than one serving or one tablespoon as too much of a vitamin can indirectly be harmful to the baby. According to a survey, using this oil early in your pregnancy will lower the risk of illnesses in your child and also will lead to an increased birth weight.
